Dr. David Magner specializes in minimally-invasive and laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery. Through an interdisciplinary, patient-centered approach, Dr. Magner is an expert in the treatment of all aspects of colorectal disease, including inflammatory bowel disease, benign anorectal conditions, advanced gastrointestinal malignancies, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Additionally, he is a renowned laparoscopic surgeon and offers completely laparoscopic approaches to surgeries which are often performed in an “open” or “hand-assisted” manner.
After completing his post-baccalaureate, pre-medical studies at Harvard University and receiving his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine-College of Medicine, Dr. Magner then went on to complete his general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was appointed Academic Chief Resident. He then furthered his training as a fellow in Colon and Rectal Surgery at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Magner is a member of the teaching faculty in the Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where his research interests focus on improving clinical outcomes for the surgical patient. He has published multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at several national and international professional meetings.
